Majestic reflection

Here is the only painting on a white background...

This painting, high in colour, marks a new chapter with a colossal work. I almost gave up several times, so the tasks were energetic...

The table represents a lion of 60 x 90 cm, composed of more than 750 pieces engraved in wood at different thicknesses, allowing for this unique effect. In figures:

• 12 noon computer modeling to vectorize the lion.

• 24h wood engraving (thanks to Grav & Dco for this work).

• Creation of 40 shades of paint and first layer made in 24h.

• Design of an original decoration to create an illusion of painting exploding under the lion while obtaining a reflection on the water.

• Finally, 8am to paint the lion just before the photo, without letting the paint dry.

The final result is a painting that I am proud to have made, an extraordinary rendering on a clear background that I would never have imagined a few months before.
